The Leaders Forum of the Hermes Air Transport Organisation which took place in Athens was moderated by Vijay Poonoosamy, Honorary Member of Hermes & barrister and Partner at Dentons.

The Forum concluded that accelerated, meaningful and inclusive innovation is necessary for a better aviation which can be embraced by all those who work in, are served by, do business with and who directly or indirectly benefit from aviation.

The forum considered what priorities needed to be embedded in the promotion of innovation, from a foundational perspective and a technical perspective.

The foundational priorities should be:

1) Integrity

2) Good Governance

3) Meritocracy

4) Effective and inclusive leadership

5) Gender Equality

6) Engagement with academia

7) Community engagement

8) Stakeholders’ engagement and alignment

The technical priorities should be:

1) Safety & Security

2) Human Capital

3) Sustainability

4) Cyber Security

5) Digitilisation

6) Pandemic resilience

7) Viable and competitive services

8) Proactive Customer engagement
