7 December 2024 mark the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation in Chicago, United States. For eight decades, this defining international agreement has served as the foundation for the development of the global civil aviation system to the benefit of all nations.
On this occasion Hermes – Air Transport Organisation hosted on Saturday 7 December 2024 in Ekali a reception with the presence of the Chairperson of Pegasus Airlines & VP of Hermes, the Director Generals of TIACA, AACO, the Director Generals of Civil Aviation Authorities of Greece, Guyana and Kazakstan, the President of Hellenic Aviation Society & Board Member of Hermes and many members of Hermes.
Dr Kostas Iatrou presented the published a commemorative book highlighting the most momentous milestones in air transport and entitled Air Transport Milestones. This commemorative book, written in partnership with the major aviation organizations, ICAO, ACI World, ASA, CANSO, TIACA, EUROCONTROL, A4A, AACO, AFRAA, ALTA and ERA.
During the event was presented the Air Transport Hall of Fame and was presented a book, a partnership with Korn Ferry and Athens International Airport, of the first 50 inductees.
Hermes paid respect to the late Robert Deillon, first VP and Treasurer of Hermes.
Finally, Henrik Hololei accepted the 2024 Hermes Award.
